Anthony Davis has agreed to a five-year deal extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, which includes the highest per-season average salary in NBA history.

Anthony Davis Secures Richest Yearly Extension, Joining Elite Ranks
The extension becomes the wealthiest yearly agreement in league history, with an average value of $62 million each season, exceeding the average of $60.8 million per season that Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown received last month as part of his five-year supermax deal for up to $304 million.
Davis was the NBA’s 75th-anniversary squad after being an eight-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA selection. He is coming off a season in which he averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists on a career-high 56% shooting – figures that mark one of his greatest seasons.
